Media Initiative for Women in Zambia (MIWoZ) is a Zambian Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) that was established in 2022 to Strengthen and Amplify the voice of women and girls through diverse media.

The formation of the organization was motivated by the realisation that there has been a very limited voice of women and girls in the Zambian media.

Considering that the media is a key platform for engagement and participation in democratic and governance processes, the limited voice of women and girls being captured in the media has impacted their ability to demand and claim their rights and freedoms.

This is contrary to the development agenda for Zambia as outlined in Vision 2030 of leaving no one behind as well as the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Consequently, the low participation of women and girls in developmental processes in Zambia has translated into poor access to public services such as health, education, water and sanitation among others.
